Overseas markets drive business growth

4Q18 core net profit of Rmb2.6bn was largely in line with our/Bloomberg consensus.

Nomura in its report stated that XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) lacks forceful earnings catalysts, for which it was downgraded to Neutral from Buy, at the target price $13 unchanged.

Xiaomi shares plunge despite the Chinese tech giant's earnings beat

by Eustance Huang

In Wednesday's Hong Kong trading session, shares of Xiaomi dropped 4.59 percent on the day.

The move came a day after the Chinese smartphone maker announced fourth-quarter earnings that bested expectations.

That's despite 2018 being the "worst year ever for smartphone shipments," according to market research company IDC.

Xiaomi's stock price has languished below its initial public offering price for most days since its public debut last July.
