Key Takeaways From Asian Gems Conference

Management maintained its 2020 sales volume growth guidance of 10%, 10% and 5% yoy for HLS, HCM and VLS respectively.

It expects the spec upgrade trend to reaccelerate from 2021.

The HLS business remains rather unaffected by the geopolitical risks, given the segment’s large exposure to Samsung, and management remains confident of prospects in the segment in the medium to long term.

Maintain BUY and raise target price to HK$143.40 on stronger-than-expected shipment ytd.

Recovery Of Shipment And Specification In Sight

We expect the handset component industry to enjoy a speedy recovery from 4Q20 on the back of a rebound in shipment volume and spec upgrade trend.

Prices of 5G-related components are expected to decline, given better economies of scale and supplydemand dynamics.

This moves the handset cameras back under the spotlight after a hiatus in 2020.

This will benefit industry leaders such as Sunny after a year of market consolidation.

Maintain BUY and raise target price to HK$178.00.
