NEW ORIENTAL-S Jumps 2%+ This Morning as 2Q NP Hikes 42.3% to US$45.5M

NEW ORIENTAL-S announced its 2Q results for the period ended November 2025 yesterday, with net revenues of US$1.191 billion, up 14.7% YoY, primarily driven by new educational business initiatives.

Net profit amounted to US$45.5 million, up 42.3%.

Non-GAAP income from operations was US$89.1 million, surging 206.9%.

Non-GAAP net income was US$72.9 million, up 68.6%.

<Results>NEW ORIENTAL-S 3FQ Non-GAAP Net Income Hikes 34.3% YoY

NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK) announced its results for the third quarter ended 28 February 2026.

Total net revenues increased by 19.8% YoY to US$1.417 billion.

Operating income rose by 44.8% YoY to US$180 million, while net income attributable to New Oriental grew by 45.3% YoY to US$127 million.

On a Non-GAAP basis, 3FQ operating income increased by 42.8% YoY to US$203 million, while net income attributable to New Oriental hiked by 34.3% YoY to US$152 million.

<Research> CMSI Raises NEW ORIENTAL (EDU.US) TP to USD79 on Operational Optimization Driving Steady Growth

CMSI published a research report stating that New Oriental (09901.HK) recorded revenue of USD1.4 billion for 3Q FY2026, up 20% YoY and 4% above expectations, mainly driven by robust growth at Oriental Selection and steady high-single-digit growth in its core education business.

Gross margin was 53.7%, down 1.4 ppts YoY.

As of February 2026, New Oriental's net cash reached USD5 billion.

Deferred revenue increased 8% YoY.

As of April 21, 2026, the company had repurchased USD184.3 million worth of shares.

The broker noted that management guided for 4Q FY2026 revenue growth of 15% to 18% YoY, and raised full-year growth guidance to 13% to 14% (from 5% to 10% at the beginning of the year).

It believes the K12 business remains the core growth driver, benefiting from improved renewal rates and enhanced product quality.

Overall, the broker expects the group's non-GAAP operating margin to expand 0.5 ppts YoY to 7.1% in 4Q FY2026.

It also raised its FY2026/FY2027 revenue forecasts by 2.1% and 5.3% to USD5.597 billion and USD6.413 billion (up 14% and 15% YoY), respectively, and lifted non-GAAP operating profit forecasts by 0.5% and 6.8% to USD733 million and USD908 million (up 32% and 24% YoY), respectively.

CMSI maintained New Oriental as its top pick. Based on upward revisions to earnings forecasts, it raised the 12-month sum-of-the-parts TP for NEW ORIENTAL (EDU.US) to USD79 from USD76, implying 22.2x and 17.7x PE for this year and next year, respectively, and reiterated an Overweight rating.

The broker also expects New Oriental to maintain active shareholder returns over the next three years, with a yield above 5%, making it attractive among the education and internet stocks under its coverage.
