Not vested. Not sure about this one. The Sports Apparel market is saturated but the Olympic deal may bring them some visibility..

DJ MARKET TALK: Citi Starts Anta Sports At Buy, Target HK$12.30

0847 [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Citigroup starts Anta Sports (2020.HK) at Buy, with target price at HK$12.30, based on 20X 2010 PER. "We like Anta for its brand strength, sound financial position, and undemanding valuations." Says despite stock +149% year-to-date, valuation still looks undemanding at 16X 2010 PER; estimates stock would trade at 12.6X 2010 PER excluding net-cash of more than CNY3.4 billion.

Forecasts 2009-11 earnings CAGR of 22%, mainly on 26% revenue CAGR. Believes stock's historical average PER discount of 33% to Li Ning (2331.HK) should continue to narrow, given Anta's better earnings growth and balance sheet.

Adds, despite most sportswear brand companies', distributors' caution on near-term outlook, views sector's 2010 outlook as favorable as inventory levels normalize, pricing environment improves. Shares ended yesterday +2.8% at HK$9.65.

Not vested. From Dr. Check:-

Always check outperforming shares and wait for a correction to buy.

Shares that can renew their historical highs under current conditions must have something outstanding.

Let's look at Anta Sports (2020), which sells sport items such as footwear, apparel and accessories in the mainland, where it had 5,667 stores at the end of last year.

Its interim profit grew by a hefty 40 percent to 608 million yuan (HK$690 million), compared with 894 million yuan for the whole of last year.

Anta beat Li Ning (2331) to win the sponsoring honors for the national team in forthcoming sporting events. Its acquisition of Fila from Belle (1880) bodes well for its high-end sports attire business.

Anta's earnings per share in 2010 and 2011 are projected at 56 HK cents and 66 HK cents, respectively.

Morgan Stanley targets HK$13.20 while JPMorgan is aiming for HK$12.40 and UBS has set a target of HK$15.20 on the stock.

Anta's share price hit a historical high of HK$12.70 in early August but dropped to HK$9.35 last month.

It closed at HK$10.54 yesterday.

With a dividend yield near 4 percent and an expected price earnings ratio of 16, it is still not too late to focus on the stock if it touches HK$10.50.

DJ MARKET TALK: Anta Off 5.2% After Major Holders' Share Sales

1153 [Dow Jones] Anta Sports (2020.HK) tumbles 5.2% to HK$10.16 with volume spiking to HK$943.7 million, due to inclusion of 80 million shares placed by controlling shareholders. Still, stock off intraday low of HK$9.93, which unlikely to be revisited, shares may end day above placement price of HK$10.00.

Anta says placement part of shareholders' "asset management plans," which taken at face value by ICBC International; thinks purpose of share placement "is for their personal financial needs." Without any fundamental changes, house keeps Buy call, HK$13.60 target which pegged on 20X FY10 P/E

I'm not as bullish as Dr. Check about Sportswear companies. You can see the knock-offs all around the place ..

Not vested. From Dr. Check, The Standard HK:-

I would like to accumulate Anta Sports (2020).

The stock plunged 6 percent yesterday for no particular reason. Anta had 6,591 stores as of December last year and is the market leader in second- and third-tier cities.

UBS expects Anta's sales to grow more than 20 percent until the second half of 2011. Citigroup gives Anta a "buy" rating and is bullish on its children's wear business.

The stock is now trading at 14 times next year's expected earnings. It looks attractive after a 27 percent correction from its year-high of HK$18.76.

ANTA Sports 安踏体育用品有限公司 (2020 HK)

China's sportswear sector has witnessed improving demand & supply dynamics since last year.

ANTA Sports (ANTA) is a pioneer among domestic sportswear companies that has penetrated the high-end market via the acquisition of international brands, which offers ANTA additional growth momentum against domestic peers.

Besides the steady growth of ANTA’s core brand (ANTA), its non-core brands (mainly FILA, ANTA Kids and e-commerce) serve as major growth drivers.

ANTA’s multi-brand strategy also helps itself to ride on rapid growth of China sportswear sector and stand out with strong earnings growth in 2015-18.

We suggest a BUY recommendation with a target price of HK$28.00.
