AAC set to maintain 40pc profit margins

AAC Technologies Holdings (2018) aims to maintain a target gross profit margin of around 40 percent this year, according to the company's executive director Richard Mok Joe-kuen.

Mok said the trade war between China and the US has no direct impact on the company's business, adding that the electronic components manufacturer will use 7 percent or 8 percent of total sales for research and development.

He also said the company aims to improve the user experience on the Android platform this year.

AAC TECH (02018.HK)'s 2Q result release is upcoming on 22 August.

Citigroup lowered its 2Q EPS forecast to RMB0.81, a little shy of consensus, mainly due to the fierce competition the company faced and de-stocking.

AAC TECH (02018.HK) announced interim result ended June 2018.

The turnover declined 2.5% year on year to RMB8.424 billion.

The net profit amounted to RMB1.778 billion, down 16.4% year on year.

EPS was RMB1.46.

An interim dividend of HK$0.4 was declared.

The net profit missed the brokers' forecast as compiled by our reporters earlier at RMB1.924-2.324 billion (median RMB2.159 billion).
