DJ MARKET TALK: AAC Tech On Track To Deliver Solid 3Q - Macquarie
Nov 2, 2012

1124 [Dow Jones] Macquarie says that following the successful launch of the newest phone and tablet products by AAC Technologies' (2018.HK) North American customer, its checks indicate the company is on track to deliver a set of solid 3Q12 results.

"We expect it to guide above street expectations for 4Q12." The house says that despite recent concerns over market share gains by AAC's main PRC domestic competitor, Geortek, it believes there is little near-term threat to the AAC's leading position in dynamic components.

Macquarie keeps the stock at Outperform although its target price of HK$27.00 is below the current share price.

DJ MARKET TALK: AAC Tech Down 1.7%; 3Q Results Likely A Boost-SHKF

1106 [Dow Jones] AAC Technologies (2018.HK) is down 1.7% at HK$29.00 on profit-taking after rallying 4.6% Tuesday, but the stock may not slide too much further as investors in general expect a solid set of 3Q12 results, due later in the day.

SHK Financial says AAC's products are widely applied by major smartphone makers including Apple Inc, Samsung and HTC, with over 50% market share, and it is poised to capture rapid demand growth in the future, and the new growth driver may come from orders on tablet PCs' speaker components.

SHKF says AAC's 3Q net profit is estimated to rise 38% on-year to CNY450 million, and the positive results would be supportive for the share price.

It adds, technically, the stock is moving along the medium-term uptrend, targeting HK$33.50.

DJ MARKET TALK: MS Keeps AAC At Overweight; Another Solid Quarter

0835 [Dow Jones] Morgan Stanley says the street may read AAC Technologies' (2018.HK) small drop in 3Q operating margin and lower sales from China-based customers as slightly mixed.

"However, we think these do not overshadow its strong 3Q EPS growth that met our Street-high estimates, thanks to strong sales."

The house slightly tweaks its FY12 and FY13 EPS estimates higher and reiterates its Overweight call on AAC, with a target price of HK$36.00.

"We like AAC's transformation to an acoustic solution provider from a component vendor, its efforts to increase value content to stabilize margin amid surging labor costs, and its propelling new growth drivers of optics/antenna beyond 2012."

The house adds AAC's current valuation of 12.3X FY13 P/E is attractive against peers' 11X-22X, and it estimates that the company will deliver an ROE of 35% in 2013 vs its peers' average of 20%.

AAC TECH was downgraded to Neutral from Buy with target cut to $29.5 from $31.

I think iPhones will remain the number one smartphone in the world - at least for the next few years.

But if you are not sure whether Apple or Samsung will triumph in the smartphone market, simply go for AAC Technology (2018), which provides acoustic products to both firms.

In the first nine months, Shenzhen-based AAC posted net profit of HK$1.19 billion, up 55 percent from a year earlier.

AAC is now making components for tablet personal computers and directly retailing its products in the mainland.

AAC TECH (02018.HK) maintained at Buy with target cut 3% to $33 by GS
Dec 18, 2012

Gold Sachs noted in a report that AAC TECH (02018.HK) slumped since 14 December along with other part suppliers to Apple Inc on worries over iPhone 5 demand.

The Bank believes that the impact to AAC TECH is mild due to its comprehensive scope of customers, including Samsung.

A Buy rating is maintained.

In view of factors such as lower output of smart phones, the Bank cut the 2013/14 EPS forecast by 3%/1%, with the 12-month target reduced 3% to $33.

<Research Report>AAC TECH (02018.HK) downgraded to Neutral with target raised to $42 by UBS
May 09, 2013

AAC TECH (02018.HK)'s share price has moved up 36% cumulatively since mid January, which already exceeded the target prices set by the UBS.

The bank believed there is limited room for the stock price to lift higher unless there are further breakthroughs in the Sumsung or new tablets OEM markets.

UBS raised the EPS forecasts for 2013/14/15 from $2.14/$2.46/$2.71 to $2.16/$2.51/$2.77 to reflect the strong sales.

Target price was raised from $38 to $42, while the bank downgraded the rating from Buy to Neutral, thinking the current valuation is reasonable.
