Yes, you are correct.

I use the support level and the kumo to determine my target price.

As far as entry point, I am just following the major trend and waiting for a signal (a reversal turn) to go in. I may, at times, check if the entry point is too close to a support/resistant level as well.

Ok cool, thanks. Was wondering why you entered at the point you did if you used Ichimoku. Looks like the last 2 weeks of Nov might also provide potential opportunities for entry for bearish positions (this time using Ichimoku for entry determination). Let's see how things play out eh? :)

RESEARCH ALERT-BNP cuts StarHub to hold; target S$2.25

SINGAPORE, Nov 28 (Reuters) - BNP Paribas on Friday cut its rating on StarHub to "hold" from "buy", citing the higher cost of buying content for its cable TV operations and an expected fall in mobile phone usage.

The French bank also lowered the target price to S$2.25 from S$3.71. The stock last traded at S$2.07.

"StarHub will start bidding for the broadcasting rights to the Barclays English Premier League (BPL) 2010-13 season in 2H09, with results expected in late 2009. We assume BPL's rights will be renewed at 50 percent higher rates," BNP analyst Foong Choong Chen wrote in a report.

BNP also expects StarHub's mobile phone revenue to weaken due to falling average revenue per user.

StarHub's Q4 net profit slips 11%

By ANGELA TAN
SINGAPORE - StarHub Limited on Tuesday reported net profit for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2008 fell 11 per cent to S$87.4 million.

Operating revenue for the quarter slipped 0.4 per cen to S$536.7 million due to the lower revenues from mobile services and equipment sales.

For the full year to end Dec 2008, net profit slipped 5.8 per cent to S$311.3 million. Revenue for the year rose 5.7 per cent to S$2.13 billion.

The teclo said the improved 4th quarter profitability was not sufficient to make up for the higher cost of acquisition and retention incurred in the 1st half of 2008.

As at 31 December 2008, the group's cash and cash equivalents balance was at S$128.3 million.

Based on the current outlook, StarHub expects 2009 operating revenue growth to be a low single digit growth year-on-year.

Blended EBITDA margin on service revenue is expected to be around 31%, and the 2009 cash capital expenditure, as a percentage of operating revenue, is expected not to exceed 11%.

In view of the projected profitability and cash flow in 2009, StarHub intends to pay a minimum annual cash dividend for FY2009 at 4.5 cents per ordinary share per quarter, totaling 18.0 cents for the full year.

StarHub
Feb 11 close: $2.09

CIMB-GK SECURITIES, Feb 11

NOT so star-crossed: FY2008 core profit was 3 per cent ahead of our forecast and 2 per cent ahead of consensus owing to a lower-than- expected tax in Q4 2008 from a $10 million tax credit adjustment. StarHub matched our expectation by declaring a 4.5 cents final dividend per share (DPS) to bring FY2008 DPS to 18 cents for a payout of 98 per cent.

Uneventful quarter: Topline in Q4 edged up 2.3 per cent q-o-q, aided by the festive period but was down 0.4 per cent y-o-y on lower revenue from mobile and equipment sales, which offset growth in the other lines of business.

Average revenue per user for all lines of business was fairly stable except for post-paid which slid 10 per cent y-o-y and 4 per cent q-o-q under lower outbound roaming, domestic usage and IDD calls as well as a shift in mix. Ebitda margins were 0.8 percentage point lower q-o-q on higher marketing spend for the festive season, higher traffic and costs of service.

FY09 guidance: StarHub guided for low-single-digit revenue growth for FY09, service Ebitda margins in the region of 31 per cent, cash capex not exceeding 11 per cent of revenue and a minimum 4.5 cents per quarter DPS totalling 18 cents for the full year.

Maintain Neutral: As Singapore bears the full brunt of the global economic downturn, StarHub could be the most susceptible to customer downtrading, putting pressure on its topline and margins. Compounding that is risk of a bruising content warfare this year.

That said, downside should be limited by its attractive yields of 9 per cent. We prefer M1, which is our top pick, and SingTel over StarHub.

SINGAPORE : Telecommunications service provider StarHub has won the bid to operate Singapore's Next Generation National Broadband Network (Next-Gen NBN).

It will establish an operating company (OpCo) called Nucleus Connect to design, build and operate the infrastructure. Nucleus Connect will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of StarHub, with plans to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of next year.

The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) said it was StarHub's competitive edge that clinched the deal.

Nucleus Connect will be a separate legal entity from StarHub. This will allow it to service retail providers on a fair basis.

Does any1 think that Temasek will divest StarHub first or SingTel??
Is SingTel being fattened up like a X'mas goose for the exercise? If so, keep StarHub stocks?

Also on telco industry,

now that keppel has divested SPC, highly possible for it to sell its M1 stake, since this is also non-core assets (Choo Chiau Beng mentioned before that there are no sacred cows in Keppel's group)

But who could be the buyers for Spore's telco players? another middle eastern fund? but other than singtel, the others have limited growth potential, not that attractive.

Well, will a Chinese Telco be looking at SingTel :?: Divesting SingTel could help stave the Thai baggage?
StarHub could be a 'core strategic asset'.
