Jurong bags Jubilee floater job
Singapore's Jurong Shipyard has won the floating production, storage and offloading vesssel conversion job for Tullow Oil's Jubilee field, off Ghana.
The job, worth about S$160 million (US$111.4 million), will see Jurong convert the very large crude carrier Ohdoh in to an FPSO for Modec Offshore Production Systems.
The FPSO will be renamed the Kwame Nkrumah, after Ghana's first president.
Jurong said the workscope includes detailed engineering, installation and integration of 18 topside modules, installation of external turret and power generation, accommodation upgrading as well as extensive piping and electrical cabling works.
The Kwame Nkrumah, which is due for delivery in the first quarter of next year, will be installed in about 1100 metres at the Jubilee field.
The floater will be capable of processing more than 120,000 barrels of oil per day, injecting more than 230,000 bpd of water, 160 million cubic feet per day of gas and will be able to store 1.6 million barrels of oil.
The Kwame Nkrumah is designed to remain on the field for up to 20 years without dry docking, Jurong added.
