Traditional peak season in Europe and North America did not materialise in Q3 2015. This led to severe deterioration in freight rates and volume. Freight rates are expected to remain under pressure due to persistent overcapacity and weak trade growth. The Group will continue its focus on cost efficiency, as well as yield and network capacity management.

(I also feel that NOL should not be sold. Singapore is still an island where shipping still provides the lifeline of the nation. Temasek should do a hard look on the company and change the management)


Similarly, Singapore will want to ensure that the island's container port, operated by Temasek-owned PSA International, doesn't get bypassed by Neptune's new owner.
