Meghmani Q1 profit soars 76%

MEGHMANI Organics reported yesterday that its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008, rose 76 per cent to 141.2 million rupees (S$4.5 million) from 80.3 million rupees previously. Revenue increased 86 per cent to 2.08 billion rupees from 1.1 billion rupees. Earnings per share rose to 0.56 rupees, compared to 0.39 rupees. The group's pigments and agrochemicals divisions contributed 775.8 million rupees and 1.07 billion rupees to operating revenue, representing revenue contributions of about 37 per cent and 52 per cent respectively.
