Investment whiz Rogers on Geo Energy's board By Lynn Kan
GEO Energy Resources appointed commodities-investment guru Jim Rogers as a non-executive director with effect from Monday.
Mr Rogers, who has resided in Singapore since mid-2007, made his name as the research head of Quantum Fund, which he co-founded with George Soros in the 1970s. He also designed the Rogers International Commodity Index, a broad composite of commodity futures.
Geo Energy last traded at 35 cents before its counters were halted last Friday.
Geo Energy's sole coal mining asset, PT Bumi Enggang Khatulistiwa (BEK), has produced 445,000 tonnes of coal since bagging its first contract in February; output is expected to hit 700,000 tonnes for the full year.
