Elec & Eltek's Q3 net profit up 52%, warns of weaker Q4

By ANGELA TAN

Elec & Eltek International Company Limited on Monday reported net profit for the third quarter ended September 30, 2008 rose 52 per cent from a year ago to US$12.23 million.

Revenue however slipped 6.3 per cent to US$141.21 million as the third quarter 'turned out to be a much slower period than what the managementoriginally expected'.

It closed the period with cash and cash equivalent of US$70.1 million.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the group expects to maintain profitable results for the full calendar year 2008 and the December 2008 quarter.

' Nevertheless, the Directors expect the financial results for the December 2008 quarter would belower than the September 2008 quarter,' it warned.

Not vested. From Kim Eng:-

PE 11; EPS growth 10% ?

Elec & Eltek International Company (ELEC SP, US$2.68, NOT RATED) – E&E is one of the cheapest PCB stocks in the region despite attractive forecast growth rates, investment returns and dividend yield.

Its parent company obviously thinks so as it has tried unsuccessfully to privatise E&E twice in the past six years.

Suitable for long‐term value investors who do not mind collecting dividends (9% by consensus estimates) while waiting for the value to be realised.
