Vested.

2Q numbers dont look too good.

Rev up 25% but after tax profit down 25%.

Need to spend some time to look at the details later.

Think Q2 profit higher than Q1, but overall 1H10 is lower that 1H09.

Overall bakery segment registered 48.4% decline in operating profit to $1.0 million compared to 2Q 2009 owing to underperformance of Hong Kong and PRC bakery units.

- any info whether losses from own operated or franchise?

Tom Mangione wrote a review comparing Ramen Play with 2 established player in Shanghai: Ajisen Ramen and Noodle Plus. Click on link to read full review.
globaltimes wrote:The verdict: While Ramen Play is facing some strong competition, its noodles are more than up to taking on the challenge. Other noodle shops should take heed. This is one noodle joint that ain't playing around.

Vested.

Dont understand why this counter jumped 4% today. No news.

I went to their Toast Box recently in BJ and noticed that business is still good. They also changed their menu slightly. Curry chicken is still good.

Their Food Republic at Oriental Plaza BJ is still doing well. The other Food Republic at Xin Dong An closeby at Wang Fu Jing is also doing well.

Noticed some people in their Bread Talk shops. Competition is tough as there are other shops nearby.

Another friend tried their Ramen Play and Din Tai Fung in Spore recently and business was supposedly very good.

*DJ BreadTalk Started At Overweight, S$0.70 Target By JPMorgan

Last Fri, I was at RWS. Noticed they have many outlets there.
Ramen Play, Breadtalk and Toastbox. Every shop is packed.
Breadtalk group brands are anchoring at all the happening locations in town.
