Buy A Tyre Gauge. Do Not Trust The Air Pump At The Petrol Stations
For the past two weeks, I've been complaining to the workers at a petrol station that an air pump at their place (on the left), has been over inflating my car tyres.
After setting the air pump gauge to 33psi, that air pump would be pumping air into my tyres at about 46 psi!
I know it because I have been using a tyre gauge to check my tyre pressure.
And my tyre gauge is not spoilt because when I use the next pump (which is on the right of the spoilt pump), my tyre gauge would show the correct tyre pressure.
To make things worse, whenever I put a red cone in front of that air pump so that others wont use that air pump, they would remove that red cone.
Last week, when I saw a foreign worker using that pump to fill the air for a customer and told him that the pump has over-inflated my tyres, he just ignored me and continued to use that pump to fill the tyres of the customers.
As nobody at that petrol station seems to be interested in doing anything about the situation, I had to call their Call Centre last week and told them how dangerous the situation is.
This week, when I was at the same petrol station, people were still using that same pump and over-inflating their tyres.
I called their Call Centre again today. They assured me again that they would look into it.
If someone gets into a serious accident because of these guys, who's responsible?
Please help viral this message and save lives. And please do spend a few dollars to buy a tyre gauge, to check that the air that is being pumped into your tyres, is at the correct pressure.
It's all about "how much you made when you were right" & "how little you lost when you were wrong"
