Ytd, I purchased 2 lionhead goldfish to complement my existing pool of goldfish - Pearlscale, Shubukin and fantails. Unfortunately, after a night in the tank, they just kind of hid in one corner since this morning. I am not sure if they were "being bullied" by the other 6 goldfish during the night??

I transferred them to a hospital tank that I have and they seem to do well there, swimming happily.

Anybody has this kind of experience? How did you solve it?

Ha Ha .. Aren't lions supposed to be king of the jungle ?

Could it be that you have too many fishes in the tank and they are now fighting for territory ?

Possible. Might have to give away a couple of goldfish to friends... just keep 3-4 in a tank :D

Yup, Goldies will become aggressive if there is not enough space for them ...

Also, Goldies develop white spots easily, so regular water changes (with mild treatment) are necessary and when you observe them, it is important to look at their fins ...

San - Tks for the tip.

I cycle the tank well and changed 25% of the water every week. However, I don't medicate unless there is a problem.

As for white spots treatment, forget about all the expensive herbal medicine sold by Qian Hu. When I had my first white spot outbreak 4 months ago, those meds did not work and caused a few of my fish to die after a week of medication. Then I researched more and bot a $2 methylene blue and the white spots cleared up in 3 days. I just remove the remaining meds using activated carbon. So far, I haven't had a problem since that outbreak.

I have decided to return the lionheads to the LFS so that they can survive better in another home. No point causing additional misery to another life.
