I thought this thread will die a slow death. Instead, it's now 25 pages.

Never underestimate the passion of a man for his favourite fruit .. ;)

Wow, D 24 is $8 per durian. Any truth that this season the D 24 is not upto standard as I was repeatedly told when I enquired about it? The seller was pushing the Man San Wang, Golden Phoenix, Red Prawn.

oe2008....

you and MM made the same comment...about $8 D24... i saw my fav stall situated opposite of between geylang lor13 and lor9...selling 3 D24s for $20...lagi better right... anyways.. this stall selling $8/D24 is very close by in proximity..

frankly...i've not tasted D24 yet to know if the standard dropped this year... as i havent been to geylang...
my neighbourhood sells D13 and the other fucking expensive breeds...

D13s are cheap and depending on personal taste buds, can be appealing to the sweet toothed..

K,

Thanks. I have eaten all Mau San Wang, D101, Golden Phoenix, Red Prawn. Actually my wife is the one who loves durian; I can handle only a few. MSW is still the best, next D101. It really depend on one's personal taste. Some prefers it not too sweat, some likes bitter, some prefer full cream whilst others like it slightly wet.

猫山王 durian

i must say, i was not too impressed... it is a tat too creamy, too soft textured, and rather blend in taste....

overall, it is still rather palatable...

next, i will specifically try Sultan durians, to see if that is more to my liking...provided market hands me the money for this purchase...else, poor me, have to makan $1/durian....
