Golf / Tiger Woods

Golfer

A scratch golfer hits his ball three hundred yards straight down the fairway, and it hits a sprinkler and careens off into the woods.

He finds the ball, but trees surround it.

He's pissed, says what the hell, grabs his nine-iron, and hits the ball as hard as he can.

It bounces off a tree back at the golfer’s head and kills him.

He arrives in heaven, and God himself, is at the Pearly Gates to greet him.

Looking up his records, God sees his golf’s score and says, “Are you any good?”

The golfer looks at God and says, “I got here in two, didn’t I?”

Perfect Shot

Bob stood over his tee sot for what seemed an eternity.

He waggled, looked up, looked down, waggled again, but didn't start his back swing.

Finally his exasperated partner asked, "what the hell is taking so long?"

"My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse," Bob explained.

"I want to make a perfect shot."

"Good lord!" his companion exclaimed.

"You don't have a snowball's chance in hell of hitting her from here."

How to Putt Like a Pro

Putting makes up about 35-40% of your final score. If you usually shoot around 90, you likely average 34-36 putts a game. A Golf Pro on the P.G.A. usually takes 26-30 putts a round.

To improve your putting, try this :
1. Line up some coins in the form of a 4 inch wide pathway straight to the hole, 2ft. from the hole.
2. You are putting through a 2 ft. long "tunnel", so to speak.
3. Now, try and sink 9/10 putts from 2 ft. through this coin pathway, but, don't touch any.
4. That is your goal - do not touch the coins.
5. You'll soon find yourself sinking all of these putts on the practice green, and on the course too, building your confidence, and lowering your scores.

Ever since they closed down my driving range, I have not taken the time to look for another driving range. Getting lazy nowadays ...

Stroke the Ball, Don't Hit It

If you are looking to have a strong, powerful swing and not a misguided hack, stroke, rather than hit the ball.

The difference can be seen when examining a short putt, when it is easy to stroke the ball. Hitting is not an option for a short putt, which makes it the easiest shot in golf.

No desire to hit the ball allows a stroking, swinging motion. Perfect this technique for short-distance shots and you will find increasing accuracy and distance with your long shots as well.

Stance

Poor alignment is the single most destructive area for players of all levels.

There are two main elements to be considered when lining up a golf shot.

First and foremost is the target line (the line that the golf club is actually on.

Secondly -- the stance line, also known as the body line.

Both are important, but the stance line must always be determined first by the target line if the stance line is to have any true meaning.
