Hi Lena-Jie,

So you are 100% cash in whole of 2008? is that what you do during peaks and troughs of cycles? How do you manage to do that (sixth sense??)

I will think that its a great challenge not to follow or be influence by all the noise around you....

Hi dear forumers in this thread,

Like Winston, I track the broad picture very tightly and closely. I have no difficulty giving up 10 - 15 percent gains if I forecast a 20% correction. I also have no difficulty liquidating counters too. Juz bite my lips and sell once the cut-loss/cut-gain limit is reached. The ride from March 2009 was fantastic and it was a once in 100 years' phenomenon. I have been anticipating a correction for some time now. This could be IT, look at the HK/Chinese market

I've a list of some 5 to 7 tickers I wanna pick up - Wilmar, SMRT, CDL, Noble, SGX, KepCorp etc. Still awaiting the right moment. I am not really 100% in cash right now as there are chips secured at very low prices and these will be in the portfolio for a long time. I expect them to be multi-baggers. And I'm still heavily invested in physical properties but debt-free ones.

If all of you keep it up here in this forum, sharing your gems of knowledge, you will also get there.

Good Cheers to all.

I'm just curious what's your allocation now.

My Allocation is now:-
Equities: 12%
Short ETF: 2%
Gold: 4%
Cash: 82%
It's all about "how much you made when you were right" & "how little you lost when you were wrong"

I'm at 50-50 now. very tempted to start a shorting position in some short etfs once a 'rally' comes by, but other than that, my mind is all geared towards a new year break!!!

If i were to view my current position simplistically, it will be effectively 85% equities, 15% cash.
