TOL:-

"Sell in May & Go Away" will be here in just a few weeks ...

Time to start shorting ?

And will US Earnings be the catalyst for the downdraft ?

TOL:-

Time to start shorting ?

Or are you waiting for the technical rebound before you short ?

And what happens if it's a one-way street downwards ?

No action, no gain ...

TOL:-

Window Dressing is over so why am I hesitating on buying some more Inverse ETF as well as buying some puts ?

Is it because I'm afraid of US earnings exceeding expectations because of the low Analyst estimates ?

Or is it because this rally has been too strong and many people are still buying on dips ?

Short it and enjoy the ride down.

Betting that it will be a sharp fall ...before the rise.
1. Always wait for the setup. NO SETUP; NO TRADE

2. The trend will END but I don't know WHEN.

TOL:-

Now that you got the technical rebound, is it time to short the market ?

And will there be other earnings suprises like Alcoa ?

How can such a company with so many "expert" analysts following it, be able to spring such a surprise ?

Can there be a situation where there would be rotations rather than a steep drop ?

DJ MARKET TALK: Muddy Water Loses Old Magic In Hong Kong

1416 [Dow Jones] Muddy Waters seems to be losing its old magic as its latest assault on small non-state-owned China firms doesn't cause too much of a stir in the Hong Kong market.

Instead, many recently oversold small caps are rebounding; examples of those rallying more than 5.0% include GOME (0493.HK), Xinyi Glass (0868.HK), China Hongqiao (1378.HK).

"Overall, the quality of non-state-owned mainland companies listed here in Hong Kong is better than those listed in the U.S. and Singapore," says Steven Leung, director of institutional sales at UOB KayHian.

He adds that with the reporting season now over, the worst of the sector selloff appears to be over.

TOL:-

Are you so sure that the US Market Direction is downwards ?

Just look at the behaviour of the S&P 500 on Thursday.

Someone spread a rumor that the Chinese GDP will be better than expected and the S&P 500 shot up 1.4%.

And Alcoa's results blew all the estimates away.

A week before that, the market shot up on some comments from Helicopter Ben...

BTW, is the Plunge Protection Team busy at work ?

The Presidential election is only 6 months away and if Mitt Romney becomes President, Helicopter Ben will need to look for another job.

So when would Helicopter be firing his last bullets as he has only US$1 trillion left ...

TOL:-

I may have to wait until US Earnings is over, before I seriously short the market.

This also ties in with "Sell in May & Go Away" .

Results seemed to be coming in above expectations...

Anyway, this Friday is expiration day, so I may want to be a bit careful as well.
