Skeleton in Housing Board flat: Identity not confirmed

A check by a Housing Board officer on a flat whose tenant had fallen behind on rent, led to the discovery of a skeleton there.

A coroner's court heard on Tuesday that the police have been unable to ascertain the identity of the remains in the unit in Block 7, North Bridge Road on Feb 25 last year.

Based on the evidence, however, State Coroner Eddy Tham surmised that the remains were those of Mr Teow Lye Hock, the rent defaulter, but this could not be conclusive.

Police investigations showed that as Mr Teow had failed to pay the rent on his flat for a long time, an officer from the HDB went there to make a check in January last year

I heard from a friend staying near the reservoir... He has a friend (and similar stories) being stopped in their trance state walking into the water, when they are "awoken" by by-standers stopping them, they not sure what they r doing.

Bedok reservoir properties r selling like hot cakes until these recent incidents.

What's happening ? Are the number of cases really going up or is the online world just hyping up such cases ?

Indian National Found Murdered in Singapore

An Indian national was found murdered near a flyover in Singapore.

Raju Arivazhagan, from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, who has been working in construction sector here for the past six years, went missing on Tuesday after celebrating the South Indian Hindu festival of Thaipusam in the Little India precinct, reported The Straits Times.

Police recovered the body of the 32-year old Arivazhagan yesterday and said he was murdered.

Arivazhagan's elder brother, Raju Anbalagan, would visit the mortuary on Monday to identify the body as he could not do so yesterday, due to the deceased’s swollen face and decomposed state.

I'm surprized that this thread is now 8 pages long :(

Dead woman found near Raffles City

SINGAPORE - A woman was found dead near Raffles City along Stamford Road early this morning.

Police received a call for assistance at about 4am.

When officers arrived, they found a woman in her mid-twenties lying motionless on the third floor parapet near a Starbucks outlet.

Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force, using safety harnesses and rescue lines, tried to get to the woman.

But the parapet which is made of thin sheet metal gave way, causing the motionless woman to slide to the ground.

Paramedics declared the woman dead, shortly after.

It is unclear if the woman died on impact from the fall.

Police have classified the case as unnatural death.
