<Research>Macquarie: MO Apr GGR Expected to Recover to 75-78% of 2019 Lv; MGM/ SJM/ WYNN 1Q Mkt Shr Hike QoQ

Macquarie released a research report estimating that Macau's April GGR could reach MOP17.6 billion-MOP18.3 billion, equivalent to 75-78% of the 2019 level.

Macquarie expected MGM CHINA (02282.HK), SJM HOLDINGS (00880.HK) and WYNN MACAU (01128.HK) to raise their market shares QoQ in 1Q24.

GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) is set to regain market share in 2Q24, due to 1Q24 promotional activities and the completion of the renovation of Galaxy Macau before the Lunar New Year (LNY), according to the report.

Macquarie listed GALAXY ENT and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) as its top picks in the sector, both rated at Outperform.

MO 1Q Mass GGR MOP42.9B, 75% of Total GGR

In the first quarter of this year, Macau's GGR amounted to MOP57.326 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 65.5%, or 75% of the MOP76.152 billion in the same period of 2019, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) announced.

Macau's VIP GGR in the first quarter of this year amounted to MOP14.378 billion, 38.6% of the MOP37.208 billion in the same period in 2019.

Macau's mass GGR in the first quarter of this year amounted to MOP42.948 billion, accounting for 75% of the total GGR, an increase of 10.28% from MOP38.944 billion in the same period of 2019.
